New Generation Network Testbed JGN-X
Research & Development Structure
JGN-X’s research and development structure is run by the NICT’s Network Testbed Research and Development Promotion Center Network Testbed Research and Development Laboratory(Network Testbed R&D Lab). The Network Testbed R&D Lab is the center of R&D development of JGN-X, and is aimed to promote the strengthening of feedback to researchers regarding the usage of New Generation Network technologies.
JGN-X’s 4 Research Themes
The Network Testbed R&D Lab has set up the following 4 research themes. These themes are all promoting the fundamental and operation R&D activities needed for New Generation Testbed field experiments.
- Network Orchestration (Operation Management) Research
- Large Scale Emulation Research
- Wired/Wireless Network Virtualization Fundamental Research
- Optical/Wireless Integrated Network Control Research
Collaboration Research Projects, Feedback Works and Support
The Network Testbed R&D Lab will also promote collaboration research projects related to the 4 research themes. In the collaboration research projects, we will take action to step forward to exchange more information with the collaboration research project to give more feedback to the research project, with the subject that the research project provides detailed information to JGN-X.
As for the operation support regarding the New Generation Network technologies deployed on JGN-X, The Network Testbed R&D Lab’s Advanced Operation Projects, as well as the JGN-X NOC plans to support these technologies as well.
