JGN-X network has the following network capabilities to allow various field tests as the largest testbed network in Japan.
The equipments which consists the JGN-X network includes layer 2 switches and layer 3 routers, and has 22 access points nationwide. Backbone networks which connects the backbone points consists of networks from 10Gbps to 40Gbps. Other access points are connected by bandwidth such as 1Gbps.
Other JGN-X networks are available for optical and international R&D activities.
JGN-X provides optical testbed network environment, which allows experiments which uses optical transmissions up to terabit networks.
